Dr. Paul Scheele co-founder of Learning Strategies:

…we learn that it is with the conscious mind that we must try to interpret the messages of the world around and within us. That is a staggering task because the conscious mind is primarily verbal and is trained down to move at the rate of speech. So the speed of conscious reflective thinking and reading are predictably slow and plodding.  Your brain’s potential speed, however, is incredibly fast. In fact, the portion of your brain mass devoted to carrying out the limited conscious brain functions is approximately 2 percent of your brain. The rest of your brain’s cortical mass works 10,000 times faster than your conscious mind can. And your limbic system works 10,000 times faster than that. In other words, 98 percent of your offline brain functions, those functions OTHER than conscious, work 10,000 to ten million times faster than your conscious mind.

It is important to realize that if you’re self-sabotaging yourself, even though you are consciously trying to do the right thing, it’s most likely due to subconscious programming. To overcome this, you must first become aware of it and then work on reprogramming your subconscious mind with positive information. This will help you to look for the positive in your life and achieve your desired results.

The power of the subconscious mind cannot be ignored. It has a significant impact on your life, and it’s important to become aware of it and work on reprogramming it with positive information. By doing this, you will be able to achieve your desired results in life and live a happier and more fulfilling life.
